Murat Ağırel announces: 210 billion TL transaction volume alleged in Paymix indictment

Journalist Murat Ağırel announced in a post on his social media account that the Paymix indictment has been prepared. Ağırel stated that the file contains striking findings regarding allegations of illegal betting, payment infrastructure, and money laundering.

According to Ağırel's post, the indictment mentions Ulaş Utku Bozdoğan, who is described as an illegal betting baron; Burak Başel, who is alleged to have provided infrastructure for betting sites; and Erdem Murat Ünal, who is alleged to have been involved in the money laundering organization.

The post states that in his testimony, Erdem Murat Ünal explained in detail how the structure operated and provided information regarding phones, computers, and cold wallets. Ağırel wrote that the indictment alleges that an association established under the name "El Emeği" (Handmade), as well as butcher shops, kebab restaurants, and technology companies, were used as tools for money laundering.

Ağırel also stated that the nephew of former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım was once on the board of the technology company that was allegedly established with illegal betting proceeds by Ulaş Utku Bozdoğan. The post also noted that the same company was visited by the then-Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank.

According to journalist Ağırel, the indictment identifies 56 illegal betting platforms, 14 million player records, 3 million Turkish ID numbers, 8 million phone records, and a transaction volume of 210 billion TL.
