Murat Çalık hospitalized again! Statement from his wife
Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who has faced a series of serious health problems while in prison, has been hospitalized once again.
Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who previously beat cancer twice and is currently incarcerated, has faced serious health issues during his time in prison. Çalık, who underwent surgery due to suspected lymphoma, subsequently underwent an angiography procedure; he also had two bone biopsies performed.
Most recently, Murat Çalık was transferred to Katip Çelebi Training and Research Hospital in Karabağlar, İzmir. It was learned that doctors there will consult directly with Çalık regarding the planned biopsy process.
DOCTORS WANTED TO SPEAK IN PERSON
His wife, Zehra Çalık, drew attention to the sensitivity of the process in a statement to Halk TV, saying:
"A biopsy was taken from his neck 2-3 weeks ago. It was insufficient. The doctors want to remove the entire mass. However, this is a very risky surgical intervention because it is a point close to the carotid artery. That is why the doctors wanted to speak with Murat in person. I don't know what they will decide. We are waiting with our hearts in our mouths for the decision they will make..."
