According to the report by Cihat Polat from Kocaeli newspaper, Murat Kurum and AKP Deputy Chairman Çiğdem Karaaslan also attended the Provincial Advisory Council Meeting hosted by Provincial Chairman Şahin Talus.
While taking the floor during the program, Murat Kurum was met with protests from citizens in the hall.
Citizens, who reacted to the waste facility that Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın wants to build in Kandıra, chanted, "We don't want a waste facility in Kandıra." The citizens, who called out to Kurum while carrying signs and banners, were removed from the hall.
