Murat Ongun reminds Minister Tekin of his associate professorship date: 'You did not become one in 2006'
Murat Ongun, an advisor to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, quoted Tekin's statement, "I became an associate professor in 2006," and shared information from the Ministry of National Education's website showing that Tekin did not become an associate professor in 2006.
Ongun responded to Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin's claim, "I became an associate professor in 2006," by citing the ministry's own website.
In his speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin said, "I enrolled at Ankara University in 1989. After graduating in 1994, I started working as a research assistant at a university. I became an associate professor in 2006. There are many fellow members of parliament here; everyone knows how long the waiting period is for a professorship after becoming an associate professor."
Murat Ongun, an advisor to IMM Mayor İmamoğlu, quoted Tekin's statement, "I became an associate professor in 2006," and pointed out that the biography of Yusuf Tekin on the Ministry of National Education's website indicates that he did not become an associate professor in 2006.
"TO FIND OUT THE DATE YOU BECAME AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR..."
Ongun shared the link to the website, stating, "Mr. Minister, you did not become an associate professor in 2006. To learn the date you actually became an associate professor, you can check your own biography on your ministry's website."

"TEKIN, WHO SERVED AS AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR UNTIL 2007, BECAME AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR THAT SAME YEAR"
The ministry website cited by Murat Ongun states the following regarding Tekin: "Yusuf Tekin was appointed as a faculty member to the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. Tekin, who served as an assistant professor in the same faculty until 2007, became an associate professor in the field of politics and social sciences that same year."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu had also used the following words regarding Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin:
"He calls my graduation a 'trick.' We know who they used tricks for about 15 years ago. How does one become a professor in this country? Do our citizens know? You are required to remain in an associate professorship position for 5 years. Well, did Mr. Yusuf stay in an associate professorship position for 5 years? He did not."
