Murat Tomruk, General Manager of Divan Hotels, a Koç Holding subsidiary, summoned to testify

Murat Tomruk, General Manager of Divan Hotels, one of Koç Holding's subsidiaries, has been summoned to testify within the framework of an investigation conducted by the Organized Crime Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

According to Sözcü, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has reached a new development in the investigation into corruption allegations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. It was reported that Divan Hotels General Manager Murat Tomruk has been added to the file as a "suspect" as part of the investigation.

The prosecutor's office stated that a "summons with police escort" was issued for Tomruk. It was learned that Murat Tomruk will be brought to the courthouse "under escort." While officials stated that there is "no detention order," it was noted that Tomruk will still be taken to the courthouse accompanied by police.

WHO IS MURAT TOMRUK?

A graduate of Galatasaray High School, Murat Tomruk received his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and later completed his master's degree in the same field at the University of Pennsylvania.

Tomruk began his career in 1988 as a sales representative at Koç Sistem, where he rose to the position of Assistant General Manager responsible for the Industrial and Commercial Sector.

During this period, Tomruk completed his MBA at Koç University between 1994 and 1995, and in 2002, he was appointed as the Marketing Director of the Koç Information Group, a position he held until 2005.

Serving as the Strategic Planning Coordinator at Koç Holding between 2005 and 2015, Murat Tomruk held the position of Assistant General Manager responsible for Tourism at Setur until 2020.

Serving as the General Manager of the Divan Group since January 2020, Tomruk also continues his duties as the CEO of Divan Hotels.
