Muş-Bitlis border officially determined by Presidential decree
In accordance with the decision published with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the provincial border between Muş and Bitlis has been redetermined and made official.
It was stated in the Presidential Decree dated June 12, 2026, and numbered 11426, that the attached decision regarding the determination of the provincial border between the Günkırı Municipality of Bitlis's Güroymak district and the Büvetli Village of Muş's Hasköy district has been put into effect. The decision was taken within the scope of Article 2 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442.
According to the sketch and coordinates included in the annex of the decision, the border line was determined by passing through various points such as Ayzut Cape, Kilise Hill, Küçükhopikan Hill, Gevot Hill, and Püşürük Hill, starting from the Karasu River. With the regulation that entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette, administrative uncertainties regarding the aforementioned border line between Muş and Bitlis have also been resolved.
The decision also included a provision stating that the general and private rights of the parties remaining within the borders of the other party are reserved.
