Müsavat Dervişoğlu declares the 'absolute nullity' ruling is not an internal CHP matter: The real target is...
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu answered questions about the agenda during a live broadcast. Dervişoğlu made significant remarks regarding Kılıçdaroğlu over the 'absolute nullity' ruling.
During the live broadcast, Dervişoğlu commented on the 'absolute nullity' (mutlak butlan) ruling concerning the CHP, stating, "This is not an internal matter of the CHP. The real target is the national will. I do not accept anyone who does not derive their power from the nation as a political interlocutor."
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements regarding the agenda during a program he attended on Halk TV.
Evaluating Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı's switch to the AKP, Dervişoğlu said, "If a politician cannot approach the will of the voter with respect, that politician's identity becomes a subject of debate in the first place. Therefore, this is a situation that erodes the political institution along with the politician in a general sense.
This is the situation in Turkey. From the very beginning. Now, things have truly gone off the rails. We need to focus on the reason for these political transfers.
At first glance, two things come to mind. One of them is a threat; the other is an offer.
Whichever of these two things a politician accepts, it leads to the questioning of that person's political ethics. One-man rule personalizes politics. If your intentions are good, if you have vulnerabilities, or if you are being threatened, then leave politics," he stated.
'THIS IS NOT AN INTERNAL CHP MATTER. THE REAL TARGET IS THE NATIONAL WILL'
Expressing that the absolute nullity ruling is not just a matter for the CHP, Dervişoğlu said, "My biggest concern regarding absolute nullity is that the thesis that this is an internal CHP matter is being fed to the public. This is not an internal matter of the CHP. The real target is the national will. I do not accept anyone who does not derive their power from the nation as a political interlocutor. The national conscience does not approve of nullity. Where the law is destroyed, everything is destroyed," he remarked.
'I DO NOT ACCEPT KILIÇDAROĞLU AS A POLITICAL INTERLOCUTOR'
Speaking about Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu potentially becoming the CHP chairman again through the nullity ruling, Dervişoğlu said, "I view this move by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu with sadness. I was not surprised by this move from Kılıçdaroğlu. I do not accept Kılıçdaroğlu as a political interlocutor. It was clear that this government's effort to nationalize politics has existed since the first day it came to power. Like trying to nationalize the opposition, to design it, to attempt to reach into political parties."
'THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM OF SOME PARTIES HAS SHIFTED'
Stating that some political parties have lost their identities since the AKP came to power, Dervişoğlu said, "We know which parties' political spectrums have shifted from where to where after the July 15 coup attempt. Besides that, we also know that they are trying to create maneuvers for themselves to bring out new political parties from within other political parties," he stated.
