MÜSİAD's response to TÜSİAD: 'Content that will damage social peace...'
The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) has issued a statement regarding the criticisms directed at the government by TÜSİAD Board Chairman Orhan Turan and TÜSİAD High Advisory Council Chairman Ömer Aras. In the statement, MÜSİAD expressed its reaction to Turan and TÜSİAD, noting that Turan's criticisms of economic policies were of a nature that would 'damage social peace.'
MÜSİAD held a consultation meeting at its headquarters in Istanbul with the participation of its branch presidents. The meeting addressed the economic agenda and strategies for the new term. In the statement released after the meeting, MÜSİAD referred to the speech made by Turan at the TÜSİAD General Assembly and stated that the business world should contribute to economic development through constructive criticism.
The statement issued after the meeting expressed that the views voiced at the TÜSİAD General Assembly were not focused on economic development. MÜSİAD emphasized that organizations representing the business world should adopt a constructive tone.
The statement said, 'The fundamental responsibility of the business world is to contribute to the country's economy by developing solution-oriented approaches. As MÜSİAD, we will continue to support reform processes and work to improve the business environment.'
The following statements were used in the MÜSİAD announcement:
''The statements reflected in the public eye in recent days, made under the claim of representing the Turkish business world as a whole, are unfortunately far from a focus on economic development and the business world, and contain content that damages social peace. In the current period, civil society organizations representing the business world are expected to make concrete contributions to the country's development journey by developing constructive criticisms instead of acting with the language of political manifestos.
The responsibility of the Turkish business world should be a solution-oriented approach and economic development. As MÜSİAD, we always adopt a solution-oriented approach. We support the implementation of reforms for Turkey's economic future and continue to contribute with all our strength to our efforts to improve the business environment.''

TÜSİAD Board Chairman Orhan Turan
STATEMENTS BY TÜSİAD BOARD CHAIRMAN TURAN
The TÜSİAD General Assembly was held at a hotel in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. TÜSİAD Board Chairman Orhan Turan and High Advisory Council (YİK) Chairman Ömer Aras made statements at the meeting.
Turan spoke as follows in his statement:
'Dismissal decisions are being made against lieutenants on the charge of indiscipline, but in many incidents that cause public outrage such as earthquakes, fires, harassment, femicide, and workplace accidents, either the perpetrators are not found or they are released in a short time.'
YİK Chairman Ömer Aras touched upon the issues of appointing trustees to municipalities and the arrest of journalists, stating the following:
'We can say that these events, which have followed one another in a very short time, have created anxiety in society and shaken trust. Furthermore, we see that a gangrenous problem, such as detention becoming the rule rather than the exception, has not been solved even though the laws have changed. We see in the acquittals and releases that come years later how meticulously decisions for detention, judicial control, and even custody, which deprive a person of their freedom even for a single day, must be made.'

High Advisory Council Chairman Ömer Aras
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç shared a message in a statement on his social media account, saying, 'We will respond in the strongest way possible to any attempt to interfere with the legal order.'
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized the TÜSİAD management, stating, 'TÜSİAD should make an effort to leave its poor track record on democracy behind.'
