The statement made on the ministry's social media account noted the following:
"Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey has been suspended from office as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior, in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, following his arrest by the Bursa 6th Criminal Court of Peace on April 4, 2026, under inquiry decision number 2026/294, on charges of 'establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes and accepting bribes.'"
