Mustafa Sandal reacts to New Year's ban: 'We will celebrate double'

In the Bağcılar and Ataşehir districts of Istanbul, the District Directorates of National Education sent a letter to schools requesting that events such as New Year's, Christmas, and Halloween not be organized.

OBSTACLE TO NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATIONS

In the letter, it was stated that such events are contrary to national and moral values, and it was requested that schools and classrooms not be decorated with New Year's ornaments.

While the letter in question sparked debate in the public sphere, singer Mustafa Sandal reacted to the situation on his social media account. In his post, Sandal stated, "The audacity to interfere with people saying 'hello' to the new year! If saying welcome to the new year bothers you, then those who made this decision should not take January 1st off. We will celebrate 'double' just to spite them!"

As reactions to the letter spread rapidly on social media, criticism from different segments of society against the banning of New Year's events continues to grow.

Sandal's reaction post received thousands of comments and likes. Here is that post:
