Singer Mustafa Sandal has issued a statement regarding the allegations made against his wife, Melis Sütşurup Sandal, and his father-in-law, Cihan Sütşurup, within the scope of the fund scandal. Sandal described the association of these allegations with himself as "unfair" and "malicious."
In a report published in Günaydın, it was claimed that Melis Sütşurup Sandal had withdrawn 11 billion 126 million 528 thousand liras and moved to Dubai before the fund investigation began. The report also alleged that Mustafa Sandal had applied for a residency permit in Dubai during the same period.
In a statement on his social media account, Sandal rejected the allegations, stating that he has no financial partnership with his wife other than their marriage.
"It is unfair and malicious to associate the allegations regarding my wife Melis and her father Cihan Sütşurup with me. Other than being husband and wife, Melis and I have had no joint business dealings in financial terms."

Other than being husband and wife, Melis and I have had no joint business dealings in financial terms. I have been in the music industry for 32 years and I have no other business, occupation, or income other than music… https://t.co/Oscsi1gkKI
Emphasizing that he has been in the music industry for 32 years, Sandal stated, "I have no other business, occupation, or income other than music." Addressing his Dubai residency permit, Sandal said that his wife's son is studying in Dubai and that she therefore holds a Golden Visa residency permit through "spousal status."
Reminding that he received a Global Talent Visa in the UK last year, Sandal announced that his lawyer has initiated legal action regarding the news reports and comments that he stated contain "slander and defamation" against him.
