Mustafa Şen: Citizens are not abandoning the AK Party, I have the results: 'Prices are high, but we are lowering them'
Stating that provincial congresses will be completed in March 2025 and the grand congress will be held in May, AKP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Şen expressed that they did not receive the results they expected in the March 31, 2024 local elections.
AKP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Şen said, "I have the results of the research. The citizens are saying that the solution is still the AK Party. They are not abandoning the AK Party."
Şen stated, "But we believe in this: 'There is good in what happens.' This is the first sentence our President said at the first MYK meeting after the election: 'There is good in what happens.' What is this good? How will it be? How will it manifest? We will see this in time. But I predict that good will come out of this in 2028. Therefore, we will plan the food we eat, the water we drink, the dreams we see, the speeches we make, everything according to 2028," he said.

"OUR NATION WILL MAKE US THE FIRST PARTY AGAIN"
Reminding that they became the second party in the March 31 elections, Mustafa Şen continued his words as follows:
"Yes, it can happen. We made a mistake somewhere. Our nation decided this way. What will we do to regain our nation's favor? It means we did something wrong somewhere. We will find these mistakes and correct them. We will do what is right. Our nation will make us the first party again, as it has always done. Does a person lose their morale just because they scored 20 goals and conceded 1? Do they despair? No. What will you do? You have the best coach in the world at the helm, you will look at the next matches. You will look at other leagues, other years. How will you do it? Simple. You will make player substitutions. You will make a better game plan. Then a better strategy, better training, and the match is yours. This is something you are already used to. Something you know better than anyone else. We will do the same. This is what the congress process is. We will make player substitutions. Our President said in a few meetings. He said, 'We see that some of our friends are tired. We will ask for permission from our tired friends. We will thank them.' Currently, our Organization Headquarters is doing this work for all provinces, districts, and towns."
Stating that not everyone will change as a result of the work, Şen said, "Institutional culture dies. An institution without institutional culture cannot survive. Traditions and memories will continue," he said.

"OPPOSITION PARTIES HAVE NO CONCERNS"
Criticizing the Istanbul and Izmir metropolitan municipalities, Mustafa Şen said, "Look at Istanbul. For God's sake, there is not a single project developed and started from scratch on the scale of Istanbul. Their supporters are complaining. They say, 'This is water, water. How can this water be more expensive than electricity? Even if it is, how can it be this much in an empty house?' Why is it like this? Because there is no concern. Our opposition parties have no concerns," he expressed.
"IN IZMIR, GOD'S SEA HAS DIED"
"Izmir... The sea has died. I am not talking about a lake, a stream, or a puddle. God's sea has died," said Şen, adding, "I don't want to scare the people by saying what happens without the AK Party. No, I am just showing examples. If the AK Party were in local power, meaning if the municipalities were ours and the People's Alliance were there, would the Gulf of Izmir be like that? Would the Aegean Sea die like that? A city by the sea should smell like ozone, oxygen, and the sea. Izmir smells like something else. The fish died. Hundreds of thousands, millions of them died. Because the sea died. The mayor says, 'Let the minister come and clean it.' Well, did the minister pollute it? What have you been doing there for years? What did you do in the previous 5 years? What did you do in the 5 years before that? Why did the people of Izmir vote for you?" he said.
Criticizing the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality as well, Şen said, "Ankara is the same. There is not a single project done on the scale of Ankara, on the scale of a capital city, done from scratch. Our capital has become a capital village. There was no traffic in Ankara. Some are angry at Melih Bey. Melih Bey provided great services to Ankara. Now everyone sees it. Since we will not leave our cities and our country in this state, what will we do? We will work harder. We will be more involved with our nation. We will listen to their troubles more," he said.
"CITIZENS CAN ALSO SPEAK HARSHLY"
Touching upon the reactions towards the government regarding the cost of living and pensions, Mustafa Şen said the following:
"They say, 'Prices are like this.' They are right. The citizen can speak harshly or softly. Is what they say true? It is true. Prices are high, but we are lowering them. We are correcting the mistake, we are fixing it. Or pensions. The citizen is right. Yes, we increased them.
If you compare it as a ratio to 20 years ago, it is high, but it remains low compared to today's prices. The citizen says this too. They are right. They speak a bit harshly. What can we do, that is their character. You cannot say anything.
We will listen and we will solve it, we are solving it. As a matter of fact, I have the results of the research. The citizen says that the solution is still the AK Party. They are not abandoning the AK Party. While the citizen is not abandoning the AK Party, while the voter is not abandoning the AK Party, how can the AK Party voter abandon it? They have no such right.
That is why we will be on the streets, in coffee houses, in workplaces. We will visit homes. We will visit parks and we will be together. The trouble is everyone's trouble. The country is everyone's country. This flag is everyone's flag."
