Let us provide two new pieces of news regarding the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, which, while being an entirely internal matter according to the Treaty of Lausanne, has been "internationalized" thanks to Ankara's "openings."

While Erdoğan was reciting Necip Fazıl Kısakürek's "My Dear Istanbul" poem at an event in Istanbul the other day, stating, "Istanbul is the common value of the Turkish-Islamic geography, along with our 86 million citizens... As long as this soul remains in this body, our love for Istanbul will never end... From Gaza to Syria, from Somalia to Sudan, from the Caucasus to the Balkans, wherever there is a need, we strive to fulfill the right of being an Istanbulite. Because we learned the struggle here... Thank God, we have not cast a shadow on the sacred memory and trust of Istanbul to this day. Hopefully, we will continue to protect this trust as it deserves in the future as well,";
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, who first declared himself "Ecumenical" and then "Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch," was in Riga as the "official guest" of Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics.

The Latvian Presidency used the title "Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople" in its post regarding the Rinkevics-Bartholomew meeting.
