N.K. arrested for insulting President Erdoğan in street interview
The General Directorate of Security (EGM) announced that N.K., who made insulting and slanderous remarks about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family during a street interview, has been arrested.
In a statement released on the EGM's social media account, it was stated: "It has been determined that the individual named N.K. made insulting and slanderous remarks directed at our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and his family in a street interview published on a social media account.
Following instructions received from the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a judicial investigation was launched against the individual for the crime of 'insulting the President,' and the individual has been arrested by the court to which they were referred."
