Naci Görür reveals risk ratio for the expected Istanbul earthquake: '2 out of 3 homes...'

Preparations continue for the Marmara Earthquake, which is expected to significantly affect Istanbul and its surrounding provinces.

However, according to scientific circles, the work being done is still insufficient.

Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made striking statements during a live broadcast he attended on Habertürk.

"2 OUT OF 3 HOMES COULD COLLAPSE IN AN EARTHQUAKE"

Emphasizing that 2 out of every 3 homes in Istanbul are at risk and that 20 percent of the at least 16 million people are in danger, Naci Görür summarized his points as follows:

Istanbul is not preparing sufficiently for an earthquake; if there is any preparation, it is not being presented to the public beyond reporting, and there is nothing visible.

To raise awareness against earthquakes, 24-hour broadcasts should be made to the public, and education should be provided to young people from kindergarten through high school.

A ministry should be established to prepare Turkey for earthquakes, budgets should be allocated to this by cutting back on other things, and its importance should not change even if governments change.

Do not struggle with whether an earthquake will happen or not; it has been happening for 13 million years. Make these places earthquake-resistant and be at ease.
