Narin Güran murder: Striking details in the testimony of Salim Güran's wife

The investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found 19 days later, continues.

Melek Güran, the wife of uncle Salim Güran, who was arrested while the search for Narin was ongoing, was taken into custody after Narin was found.

The testimony of Melek Güran, which was taken by the prosecutor's office at the courthouse, has emerged.

"MY HUSBAND SAID HE WAS GOING TO THE FIELD"

Stating that her husband Salim Güran said he would go to the field on the morning of the incident, Melek Güran said, "My husband Salim Güran said he was going to the field. He did not say he was going to Hüseyin Güran's house. However, one of our two fields, the one near the cemetery, is close to Hüseyin Güran's house; he might have gone there. But I do not know if he went, he did not say he would go."

DNA IN THE VEHICLE WAS ASKED

The prosecutor's office asked Melek Güran many questions during her testimony. Melek Güran answered the questions asked by the prosecutor one by one.

ASKED: What is your knowledge regarding the discovery of DNA samples belonging to Narin Güran inside the vehicle used by your husband, Salim Güran, who is currently under arrest, after Narin Güran went missing?

ANSWERED: My husband Salim Güran was using the vehicle with license plate 47 ... belonging to his brother, Fuat Güran. My son Devran also used this vehicle from time to time. I have no knowledge or observation regarding the presence of Narin's DNA inside the vehicle.

"IF THERE ARE SECRET THINGS, THEY MIGHT HAVE DELETED THEM"

ASKED: Your husband, Salim Güran, deleted his phone records, WhatsApp conversations, and message logs on the day Narin Güran went missing. What is your knowledge and observation regarding this?

ANSWERED: I do not know why my husband did such a thing. I learned about this issue on 08.09.2024. I do not know why he deleted them.

ASKED: Along with your husband Salim Güran, Kurtuluş Güran, Devran Güran, Fuat Güran, Muhammed Kaya, and Şevket Kaya deleted their phone records and WhatsApp conversations from the day of the incident. What is your knowledge and observation regarding this? Do you think this is normal? What do you think about this?

ANSWERED: I learned about this on 08.09.2024. It is not something normal. I have no idea why they deleted them. But if there are secret things, they might have deleted them for that reason. However, I do not know what that is.

"DID THE FAMILY HOLD A MEETING?"

ASKED: Was a meeting held by the Güran family between the date Narin Güran went missing, 21.08.2024, and 08.09.2024, the day Narin Güran was found dead? If it was held, where was it held, what was discussed, and who was there?

ANSWERED: From the day the incident happened, I was in my own house. I did not see them gathering specifically at our house. If they gathered somewhere else, I do not know that. When they sat in front of our house, normal conversations were taking place.

"I SUSPECTED MY HUSBAND SALİM"

Melek Güran, who answered every question from the prosecutor's office, also gave a striking answer to the question, 'Who do you suspect?'

ASKED: Is there anyone you suspect regarding the incident of Narin Güran going missing and subsequently being murdered?

ANSWERED: The vehicle with license plate 47 ... used by my husband Salim Güran actually belongs to his brother Fuat Güran. However, since he was in the province of Van, my husband Salim Güran was using the vehicle. In the examination conducted inside this vehicle, a DNA profile belonging to Narin Güran was detected. This vehicle was used by my husband Salim Güran and my son Devran Güran. However, my husband used it more frequently.

My husband Salim Güran also used the vehicle on the day Narin went missing. The vehicle was with my husband Salim Güran all day. Devran had also gone to distribute invitations on the day of the incident. Since Narin was 8 years old and could not drive a car, I suspected my husband Salim Güran. My husband Salim Güran was already arrested for this reason. I do not suspect anyone else.
