Narkoçelik-28 operation: 2 tons 294 kilograms of drugs seized

It was stated that within the scope of the Narkoçelik-28 operations, 2 tons 294 kilograms of drugs, 13 million 623 thousand 127 cannabis and skunk plants, and 2 million 2 thousand 455 drug pills were seized.

It was reported that 59 drug traffickers and street dealers were apprehended as a result of the operation, 40 of whom were arrested, and judicial control measures were imposed on 9 others.

Minister Yerlikaya explained the distribution of the operations by province as follows:

"Under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Department, and with the participation of Provincial Gendarmerie Commands; 203 teams, 642 personnel, along with aerial vehicles and narcotic detector dogs, carried out 'Narkoçelik-28' operations in Antalya, Ağrı, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Aydın, Erzurum, Hakkâri, Istanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Mersin, Samsun, Aksaray, Sivas, Afyonkarahisar, and Tokat.

In the field operation conducted by the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 5 million 94 thousand 730 cannabis plants, 3 million 843 thousand 800 skunk plants, 1 ton 637 kg of herbal cannabis, and 141.5 kg of powdered cannabis were seized. 11 drug traffickers were apprehended. 7 were arrested. In the operation conducted by the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 9 kg of cannabis and 4 kg of skunk were seized. 11 street dealers were apprehended and arrested.

In the operation conducted by the Ağrı Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 186 kg of heroin and 30 kg of methamphetamine were seized. 4 drug traffickers were apprehended. 3 were arrested. Judicial control measures were imposed on 1.

In the field operation conducted by the Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 760 thousand cannabis plants and 13 thousand 385 skunk plants were seized. 4 drug traffickers were apprehended.

In the operation conducted by the Hakkâri Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 23 kg of methamphetamine was seized. 1 drug trafficker was apprehended and arrested.

In the operation conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 2 kg of bonzai, 2 million drug pills, 226 kg of raw material used in the manufacture of drug pills, and 750 thousand drug pill capsules ready to be filled were seized. 2 drug traffickers were apprehended and arrested.

In the operation conducted by the Kırklareli Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 1 million 843 thousand 422 cannabis plants were seized. 4 drug traffickers were apprehended.

In the field operation conducted by the Kocaeli Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 1 kg of bonzai, and various amounts of methamphetamine and drug pills were seized. 2 street dealers were apprehended. 1 was arrested.

In the field operation conducted by the Mersin Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 10 kg of skunk was seized. 3 drug traffickers were apprehended. 2 were arrested. Judicial control measures were imposed on 1.
