National boxer Rabia Topuz admitted to intensive care

Returning from the national team camp, Rabia Topuz went to the Kotan Lake area in the Akçadağ district yesterday for training with fellow national athlete Hatice Akbaş and coach Kerem Akbaş. While running in the rural area, Topuz was bitten on the foot by a snake.

After receiving initial first aid from coach Akbaş, Topuz was taken to Akçadağ State Hospital. Following initial treatment there, she was transferred to Malatya Training and Research Hospital, where she continues to receive treatment in intensive care.

In a statement released by Fenerbahçe, it was noted: "We have learned the news that our Fenerbahçe Boxing Branch's decorated boxer Rabia Topuz has been admitted to intensive care following a medical incident. STATEMENT FROM DOCTORS REGARDING HEALTH STATUS

Turkish Boxing Federation President Eyüp Gözgeç stated that national boxer Rabia Topuz's health is improving and that she will remain in intensive care today as a precautionary measure.

Stating that the athlete's health is improving, Gözgeç said, "Her treatment continues at Malatya Training and Research Hospital. She is better today than yesterday; she has passed the first critical 24 hours, and she is being kept in intensive care today as a precaution. The doctors said her condition is good and that they may be able to move her to a regular ward tomorrow."
