NATO summit marathon in Ankara: Programs finalized

The detailed program for the NATO Leaders' Summit to be held in Ankara next week has been announced. The summit will begin on the morning of July 7 with an opening speech by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the summit will feature a leaders' reception, a family photo, ministerial meetings, and numerous bilateral talks. US President Donald Trump is also expected to arrive in Ankara on July 7 to meet with Erdoğan.

NATO summit marathon in Ankara: Programs finalized

As preparations continue for the NATO Leaders' Summit to be held in Ankara, the official program for the summit has been shared by the alliance. Within the scope of the two-day summit, heads of state and government, foreign and defense ministers, and representatives from NATO's partner countries will come together.

Prior to the summit, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is scheduled to hold a press conference on July 6.

WILL BEGIN ON THE MORNING OF JULY 7 WITH THE DEFENSE INDUSTRY FORUM

The first event of the NATO Leaders' Summit will be the Defense Industry Forum, which will be held at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Congress and Exhibition Center on the morning of July 7.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will deliver the opening speech of the forum. Following this, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler are expected to address the participants.

The forum will bring together high-level representatives from NATO, allied and partner countries, defense industry companies, sector leaders, and organizations operating in the field of innovation.

FOREIGN AND DEFENSE MINISTERS TO MEET SEPARATELY

On the first day of the summit, at 17:00, foreign ministers of NATO member countries and representatives of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) member countries Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates will hold a meeting at the Presidential Complex in Beştepe.

At the same time, a reception for defense ministers will be held at the Ay Yıldız Headquarters, hosted by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler.

RECEPTION FOR LEADERS BY ERDOĞAN AND EMİNE ERDOĞAN

On the evening of July 7 at 18:30, a reception and dinner will be hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan for the heads of state and government and their spouses.

At 19:45, the NATO-Ukraine Foreign Ministers Council Working Dinner,

At 20:15, the North Atlantic Council Working Dinner at the level of Defense Ministers will be held.

FAMILY PHOTO TO BE TAKEN ON JULY 8

On July 8, the second day of the summit, statements will be made by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the leaders of the allied countries.

Later, President Erdoğan and Rutte will welcome the leaders attending the summit and greet them individually. Following the welcoming ceremony, the traditional family photo will be taken.

At 11:15, the North Atlantic Council Meeting at the level of Heads of State and Government will begin. Towards the conclusion of the summit, at 15:00, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will hold a press conference.

ERDOĞAN'S INTENSE BILATERAL MEETING TRAFFIC

Throughout the summit, President Erdoğan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with numerous leaders, primarily US President Donald Trump.

Within the scope of the program, various contacts and diplomatic meetings will also be held among the leaders.

TRUMP WILL BE IN ANKARA ON JULY 7

It has been announced that US President Donald Trump will also come to Ankara on July 7 for the summit.

According to Trump's visit program, the first stop will be Anıtkabir. Trump, who will then move to the Presidential Complex in Beştepe, will be welcomed by President Erdoğan with an official ceremony.

It is planned that cavalry units will accompany Trump's official vehicle during the welcoming ceremony.

Following the official ceremony, meetings will be held between Erdoğan and Trump, first one-on-one and then between delegations.

The following topics are expected to be discussed during the meeting between the two leaders:

The sale of F-110 fighter jet engines to be used in the national combat aircraft KAAN,

Turkey's return to the F-35 program,

Recent developments in Syria,

The situation in Gaza,

Bilateral defense and security cooperation issues.

JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE AND EXPECTATION OF AGREEMENTS

Within the scope of the program, it is also expected that Erdoğan and Trump will sign various bilateral agreements and hold a joint press conference following their meetings.

The NATO Leaders' Summit to be held in Ankara is anticipated to be the scene of important contacts in terms of the alliance's defense policies, regional security agenda, and cooperation among allied countries.
