Turkey's natural gas imports increased by 17.94 percent in July compared to the same month last year, reaching approximately 3 billion 574 million 710 thousand cubic meters.
According to the "Natural Gas Market Sector Report" for July from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), 3 billion 105 million 950 thousand cubic meters of imports were carried out via pipelines, while 468 million 750 thousand cubic meters were imported through liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
Total natural gas imports rose by 17.94 percent to 3 billion 574 million 710 thousand cubic meters, compared to the 3 billion 30 million 960 thousand cubic meters recorded in July of last year.
In July, the highest volume of natural gas imports was from Russia, with 1 billion 482 million 580 thousand cubic meters. Russia was followed by Azerbaijan with 1 billion 4 million 80 thousand cubic meters and Iran with 619 million 290 thousand cubic meters.
During this period, 468 million 750 thousand cubic meters of LNG were imported from Algeria.
