Natural gas pipeline explosion in Sultangazi

An explosion occurred in an underground natural gas pipeline in Sultangazi. It was reported that there were no injuries in the incident, while the balcony of a building sustained damage.

Natural gas pipeline explosion in Sultangazi

The explosion occurred around 20:00 on an underground natural gas pipeline located on Şehit Eyüp Gönen Street in Sultangazi. Citizens in the vicinity who saw the explosion and the subsequent rising flames notified the teams. 

With the intervention of the officials who arrived at the scene, the natural gas was shut off, and the fire was extinguished by the fire department teams. It was learned that there were no deaths or injuries due to the explosion.

On the other hand, material damage occurred on the balcony of a building and the window of a house due to the explosion.

"THERE WERE TWO EXPLOSIONS"

Osman Boduç, who saw the fire, said, “I was sitting at home when suddenly there was an explosion. Flames rose. After the flames rose, the corner of the house opposite burned. The teams arrived and intervened in the incident. There were 2 explosions. We moved the cars. The flames rose higher than the building,” he said.

A citizen named Cüneyt Tepecik said, "Suddenly there was a sound. In a panic, I went immediately, fearing it would spread to our building too. We took the children and went downstairs,” he said.
