Nedim Şener's 'Ankara Narcotics' claim: 'A drug tip-off was made using Erdoğan's ID number'

Hürriyet columnist Nedim Şener reported on an incident he claims took place at the Ankara Narcotics Branch while the Ayhan Bora Kaplan investigation was ongoing.

"IT EMERGED THAT HE CONDUCTED A SEARCH"

Şener stated the following:

“A drug tip-off was made from abroad using President Erdoğan’s Turkish Republic ID number. It emerged that another police officer working at the branch had conducted a search regarding Erdoğan. Perhaps due to these consecutive incidents, Deputy Police Chief Yılmaz Tümer, who was responsible for the Narcotics Branch, was suddenly reassigned to the Police Academy.”

In his column, Şener also added, “It is said that when Engin Dinç was appointed as the Ankara Police Chief, he wanted to make Tümer the deputy chief responsible for Intelligence, but could not do so due to objections regarding the status of his two brothers, who are also members of the police force.”
