Neither Sabancı nor Koç... Turkey's largest holding company has been revealed

As a result of operations and seizures that have accelerated in recent months, the TMSF has become Turkey's largest corporate empire. With the number of companies reaching 1,116, the TMSF has surpassed giants such as Koç Holding and Sabancı Holding to become the largest player in the sector. While the TMSF has drawn attention with its increasing operations since March 19, both the assets seized and the number of companies under trusteeship have shown a significant increase during this period.

According to the TMSF's activity reports, while the number of companies under trusteeship was 679 as of February 2025, this number increased by 64 percent in just 10 months to reach 1,116. A total of 55 thousand 992 people are employed in these companies under trusteeship. The total asset size of the companies in question was recorded as 361.2 billion TL as of the end of September.

The sectoral distribution of the companies under trusteeship is also noteworthy. Companies in the construction and architecture sector rank first with 14 percent, while the food, agriculture, and livestock sector ranks second with 13 percent, and the energy sector ranks third with 12 percent. These sectors hold a significant place in the TMSF's growing portfolio.

The TMSF continues its operations with a staff of 504 people. Of this personnel, 338 are permanent staff and 166 are on temporary assignment. A total of 442 people, 318 of whom are TMSF personnel, have been appointed to the management of the companies under trusteeship.
