Neslim and İnanç Güngen's testimonies revealed: She shifted the blame...

Officers from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch have been closely monitoring a large number of individuals as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

While MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board) reports, the bank account activities of the influencers, and the individuals or groups they are connected to were being extensively examined, an operation was launched against beauty center owner Neslim Güngen and her husband İnanç Güngen, who frequently shared images of luxury consumption on her social media account.

During the operation, 65 people were detained; 45 of them were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed, while 20 were released under the prosecutor's instructions.

'ALL OUR OPERATIONS ARE TRANSPARENT'

The testimonies of the suspects referred to the courthouse, including Neslim Güngen, her husband İnanç Güngen, a tax inspector, and some employees, were obtained. According to this, regarding the tax inspector who allegedly called her multiple times to request an off-the-record meeting, Neslim Güngen reportedly said in her testimony, “He meets with tax inspectors at the tax office. I did not have an off-the-record meeting with him.” In her statement to the police, Güngen also denied all allegations against her, saying, “All the work and operations we conduct are transparent. Every state institution can come and audit us.” It was also learned that during physical surveillance, Güngen mentioned in some conversations that she was in a relationship with money handler Gökhan Göz.

EMPLOYEES REFUTE GÜNGEN’S CLAIM OF TRANSPARENT OPERATIONS

It emerged that the detained employees of Güngen contradicted her in their testimonies. The employees stated that they knew some of the drugs and cosmetic materials used in the beauty centers were subject to recall orders, that the materials posed a threat to public health, that liquids with no cosmetic content were sold as Botox at high prices, and that the drugs had side effects that could result in death, but that Neslim Güngen forced them to do all of this.

İNANÇ GÜNGEN SHIFTED THE BLAME TO NESLIM GÜNGEN

Furthermore, it was stated that İnanç Güngen also denied all accusations in his testimony and blamed Neslim Güngen. İnanç Güngen said, “I was producing the devices, but Neslim was dealing with the documents. She said she had registered them with the Ministry of Health. The company is in my name, but Neslim was dealing with all the work and operations.”

TAX INSPECTOR DENIED ALLEGATIONS

It was learned that the tax inspector, who was detained on the grounds that he had called Neslim Güngen multiple times to request an off-the-record meeting while assigned by MASAK, denied the allegations against him and stated that he had not made any financial demands. It emerged that the inspector said in his testimony, “We met regarding work; there were others with me when I went to the meeting.”
