Nevşin Mengü shares 'handcuff show' post on the state of freedom of expression: 'If you touch on other topics'

Journalist Nevşin Mengü also shared a post on her social media account regarding the dissatisfaction caused by the minimum wage, stating that the announced amount was also harshly criticized by figures close to the AKP. Interpreting this critical freedom as a result of the responsibility resting on Mehmet Şimşek's shoulders, Mengü made a reference to journalist Özlem Gürses, who was placed under house arrest, without naming her, and described the current state of freedom of expression with the words 'the well-known handcuff show'.

Nevşin Mengü had also been targeted and detained due to an interview she conducted on her YouTube channel. After her statement was taken, Mengü was released under judicial control conditions.

WHY WAS NEVŞİN MENGÜ DETAINED? 

Nevşin Mengü, who hosted Salih Müslim, who is wanted with a red notice, on her YouTube channel yesterday, was targeted on social media immediately after the broadcast.

"We see that opinion leaders/journalists etc. close to the AKP can comfortably criticize the minimum wage. Because in the end, these policies will be dumped on Mehmet Şimşek's shoulders; they will say it has nothing to do with Erdoğan, Şimşek did it, and they will get out of it, so firing is free. If you touch on other topics, the well-known handcuff show"
