A new tender has been held as part of the project to convert the historic Divanhane Building in Kasımpaşa, Istanbul—previously used as the Northern Sea Area Command headquarters—into the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Museum.
According to information in the Public Procurement Bulletin, the Directorate of National Palaces held a tender titled "Divanhane Building Exhibition Arrangement and Implementation Work (2nd Phase)" on July 21, 2026. As reported by İsmail Arı from BirGün, the tender was awarded to Fibula Mimarlık Tasarım Limited Şirketi, which submitted a bid of 124 million 989 thousand TL.
It was stated that the contract between the company and the Directorate of National Palaces was signed on August 17. It was noted that the tender covers the second phase of the exhibition and arrangement applications in the building.
The 2025 Activity Report of the Directorate of National Palaces included information that 647 gifts presented to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have been moved to the museum. The report stated that inventory scans for the exhibition were conducted, display lists were created, and preparations regarding pedestals and panels were completed.
According to the report, the gifts in question were taken into storage, photographed, measured, and their inventory records were completed. President Erdoğan had also previously stated in a statement that the works presented to him would be exhibited at the museum in Kasımpaşa and that the museum was planned to be opened before the end of the year.
