While the decision regarding Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu, the top graduate of the academy, as well as lieutenants İzzet Talip Akarsu, Serhat Gündar, Deniz Demirtaş, and Batuhan Gazi Kılıç—who the Ministry of National Defense announced have been referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for dismissal from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on charges of "intentional and organized indiscipline despite warnings from their superiors"—is awaited with curiosity, it has been learned that the investigation into other lieutenants who attended the ceremony is also ongoing.

In this context, it is alleged that at one of the branch schools, the Regimental Commander called the lieutenants into his office one by one and attempted to have them sign a document without showing them the text. It is claimed that while some lieutenants signed the document in question, others first wanted to read the text, and when they were not permitted to do so, they refused to sign. It is alleged that the document was a confession stating that the lieutenants had held a meeting one day before the oath-taking ceremony and made a decision on this matter.

The second development regarding the lieutenants is that some were sent a "warning," while others were asked to provide a defense for "disobedience of orders." It is estimated that those who received warnings are those not seen in the videos and photos of the oath-taking ceremony, while those asked to provide a defense are those identified in the videos and photos.

As will be recalled, Erdoğan said at the Imam Hatip Graduates Assembly: "Who are you drawing these swords against? Now, all necessary investigations are being carried out regarding these individuals, and those few who do not know their place there will be purged, God willing... This could be 30 people, it could be 50 people. Whoever they are, it is impossible for them to remain within our army. We will purge them."
