It has been claimed that former Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan will be appointed as Turkey's permanent representative to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Hafize Gaye Erkan, who was appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) on June 8, 2023, became the center of attention following an interview she gave to Ahmet Hakan and allegations raised regarding her father.
Following claims that she had allocated an office and a company vehicle at the bank to her father, Erol Erkan, and that her father had slapped a bank employee, Gaye Erkan resigned on February 2 by requesting to be relieved of her duties.
A striking claim has been made regarding Erkan, who went down in history as the first female governor of the TCMB and remained in office for 8 months.
According to a report by Toygun Atilla from Patronlar Dünyası, Hafize Gaye Erkan will be appointed as Turkey's Permanent Representative to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) following a presidential decree.
Hafize Gaye Erkan, who will serve in Paris, will also be granted the rank of Ambassador.
