New arrest in Kartalkaya case: Number of detainees reaches 22
Regarding the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel, 22 of the individuals referred to the court by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest have been detained. The court also decided to arrest the hotel's daytime chef, Enver Öztürk, and send him to prison.
The hotel's chef, Enver Öztürk, who was taken into custody regarding the hotel fire at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, has been arrested. With Öztürk, the number of people arrested in connection with the fire has risen to 22. Previously, the court had also ordered the arrest of the hotel owner, Halit Ergül, and the general manager, Emir Aras.
In the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel on the night of January 21, 78 people lost their lives. Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 28 people were taken into custody. Among them, 19 suspects, including hotel owner Halit Ergül, general manager Emir Aras, Deputy Mayor of Bolu responsible for the fire department Sedat Gülener, and Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun, were arrested.
Other suspects were released under judicial control conditions. Within the scope of the investigation, the Provincial Special Administration Secretary General Sırrı Köstereli and Deputy Secretary General Bünyamin Bal, who were taken into custody recently, were arrested by the duty Magistrate's Court and sent to prison.
Finally, the hotel's daytime chef, Enver Öztürk, was taken into custody. The chef, Öztürk, was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison. Thus, the number of detainees in the case has risen to 22.
