New authority for Erdoğan: Appointment procedures changed
Appointment procedures for senior public officials and positions in public institutions and organizations have changed significantly. The decision, signed by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the President's appointment authority has been expanded.
The decision to amend the Presidential Decree on appointment procedures for senior public officials and positions in public institutions and organizations has been published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Accordingly, it was decided that appointments to the cadres, positions, and duties included in schedules 1 and 2 attached to the Presidential Decree shall be made by Presidential decision; that the line for "Legal Advisors, Ministry-affiliated, related and associated organizations" in Schedule 2 attached to the Presidential Decree shall be amended to read "Legal Advisors, excluding State Economic Enterprises"; and that the line for "Sports Advisors" shall be repealed.
