New case against police killer Yunus Emre Geçti! Caught in July, but no action taken...

It was revealed that Yunus Emre Geçti, the killer who resisted police officers attempting to apprehend him in Istanbul's Ümraniye district last September and martyred police officer Şeyda Yılmaz with a weapon he seized from an officer, was a repeat offender.

A new case has been filed against the killer Yunus Emre Geçti, who committed the police murder that dominated Turkey's agenda, with a request for up to 5 years in prison on charges of "purchasing, accepting, possessing, and using narcotic or stimulant substances for personal use."

HE WAS SEARCHED IN JULY

According to a report by Arzu Kaya from Sabah; according to the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Üsküdar Motorcycle Police Team Command conducted operations targeting suspicious individuals last July. Within this scope, the teams performed a body search on Yunus Emre Geçti.

During the search, narcotic substances were found on Geçti. When asked where he obtained the drugs, the suspect described a person named Mert who was driving a white vehicle in the vicinity. The teams expanded their search in the area. When the described vehicle was located and stopped, 22 narcotic pills were found on the floor mat of the passenger seat. Proceedings were also initiated against the vehicle owner for "drug trafficking."

The prosecutor's office stated that Yunus Emre Geçti was stopped on suspicion at the time of the incident, searched, and caught with narcotic substances. Noting that the seized substances were analyzed and a report was obtained, the prosecutor's office confirmed that the substance was indeed a narcotic. Stating that the suspect confessed to the crime and that a case had already been filed against him for the same offense last February, the prosecutor's office filed another case following his re-apprehension. They requested up to 5 years in prison for the crime of "purchasing, accepting, possessing, and using narcotic or stimulant substances for personal use."
