New decision on vehicle inspection published in the Official Gazette!

Vehicle inspection service within the scope of the Highway Traffic Law has been included in the privatization scope and program. Privatization procedures will be carried out by applying one or more of the following methods, either together or separately: granting of operating rights, establishment of non-possessory rights on property, revenue sharing model, and other legal arrangements appropriate to the nature of the work.

The matters to be included in the tender documents and the contract will be determined by the Privatization Administration (ÖİB) and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

In order to ensure the continuity of the public service, the privatization procedures will be completed by August 15, 2027.

CONTRACT PERIOD FOR CURRENT VEHICLE INSPECTION SERVICE IS ENDING

According to information obtained from the ÖİB, the privatization tender for the vehicle inspection service, to be granted for 20 years, was held on December 20, 2004, in two regions as north and south.

As a result of the tender, concession agreements regarding the construction, maintenance, and operation of vehicle inspection stations in the first and second regions were signed with investors on August 15, 2007. The term of these contracts will expire on August 14, 2027.

The Regulation on the Opening and Operation of Vehicle Inspection Stations and Vehicle Inspection includes the provision: "Necessary plans, projects, infrastructure, and similar procedures shall be initiated at least 5 years before the expiration date of the concession agreement for the vehicle inspection tender, and the new tender shall be concluded no later than August 15, 2027."

In this context, in order to ensure that the public service continues without interruption after the expiration of the aforementioned contracts, vehicle inspection services have been included in the privatization scope and program again by the Presidential Decree for the initiation of privatization preparation works by the ÖİB.

ZONING PLAN DECISIONS

On the other hand, zoning plan changes regarding some real estate properties by the ÖİB have also been approved.

Accordingly, it was decided to approve the zoning plan regarding the real estate in Gökçebel Neighborhood of Bodrum district in Muğla.

The zoning plan change regarding the real estate in Karaca Neighborhood of the central district of Çorum, registered in the name of Ankara Natural Electricity Generation and Trade Inc. (ADÜAŞ), which is within the scope and program of privatization, was also found appropriate.
