It has been learned that the two terrorists got off the metrobus at the Çağlayan stop and were stopped for an ID check (GBT) by a police officer in the area near Gate D. During this time, the female terrorist sprayed pepper spray at the police officer, and the male terrorist held a gun to the officer's head, but the weapon jammed.

Meanwhile, police investigating the connections behind the attack have detained 90 suspects in a series of operations so far. From the bags and persons of the neutralized organization members, 48 bullets, 56 plastic handcuffs, a device disguised as a bomb, bandages, and 2 canisters of pepper spray were seized.

STOPPED FOR AN ID CHECK

Details of the terrorist attack that occurred yesterday in front of the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan have begun to emerge.

According to allegations, it was revealed that the terrorists named Emrah Yayla and Pınar Birkoç arrived at the scene by metrobus, and after getting off at the Çağlayan stop, they were stopped for an ID check by a police officer near the courthouse's Gate D.

When the police officer asked the two terrorists for their identification, it was learned that Pınar Birkoç sprayed pepper spray at the officer, and Emrah Yayla held a gun to the officer's head and pulled the trigger, but the weapon jammed.

Following this, it was learned that the terrorists ran toward the courthouse, and upon the alert from the officer who had asked for their IDs, the terrorists opened fire on the police officers at the checkpoint. In the ensuing shootout after the police returned fire, the two terrorists were killed.
