New details on the arrest of Eylem Tok and her son: Panicked during detention

17-year-old Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci in a traffic accident that occurred in Eyüpsultan on March 1, was captured in the US, where he had fled with his mother, Eylem Tok.

New details have emerged regarding the capture of fugitive Eylem Tok and her son.

According to a report by TRT Haber; Tok and her son, who were constantly changing locations in the US, rented a house 20 days ago in an area called Jamaica in the state of Boston. They also signed a contract while renting the property.

The General Directorate of Security's Interpol Department and the Security Attaché at Turkey's Embassy in the US identified the locations of the fugitive mother and son.

Even the details of the rental agreement were obtained. The information on the suspects was transmitted first to Interpol officials and subsequently to the Boston Police.

MADE PHONE CALLS AFTER BEING TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

The Boston Police raided the place where Eylem Tok and her son Timur Cihantimur were staying on June 14 at 09:30 (16:30 Turkish time) according to the US East Coast time zone.

Tok and her son did not resist the police officers conducting the operation. It was learned that Timur Cihantimur panicked, but his mother, Eylem Tok, calmed him down.

Eylem Tok made some phone calls during the detention.

The 5,000 dollars found during the search of the house were recorded in the report. While the suspects were being taken to the police station, US lawyers also arrived at the police station shortly after.

EYLEM TOK AND HER SON ARRESTED

The mother and son were brought before the Boston Federal Court.

Timur Cihantimur was arrested on charges of "involuntary manslaughter and causing injury," and mother Eylem Tok was arrested on charges of "aiding and abetting a criminal."

The detention status of the suspects, who will appear before the judge again on Tuesday, June 18, will be re-evaluated.

ALLEGATIONS OF PLANNING ANOTHER ESCAPE

On the other hand, Boston is located in close proximity to Canada. It is alleged that one of the reasons the fugitives wanted to rent a house in that region was because Timur Cihantimur is a US citizen.

This is because US citizens can easily cross into Canada.
