New development in house raids and detentions ahead of NATO summit: 103 people arrested
More than 200 people detained in house raids ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara have been referred to the courthouse following police processing. Arrest warrants were issued for TEMA volunteers.
In Ankara, 103 of the suspects detained in operations against terrorist organizations ahead of the NATO Summit have been arrested.
It was learned that judicial proceedings regarding the other suspects are ongoing.
Following the ban decisions taken by the Ankara Governor's Office within the scope of the NATO Summit, simultaneous operations were carried out at numerous addresses by police and gendarmerie teams on June 23.
In the operations carried out under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 209 out of 241 suspects, who were assessed to have links to the terrorist organizations DAESH, TKP/ML, MLKP, and DHKP/C, were detained.
103 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
The suspects, whose processing at the police station was completed, were referred to the courthouse. Among the suspects brought to the Ankara Courthouse, 103 individuals, including TEMA Foundation Ankara Provincial Representative N.Ö. and Assoc. Prof. Dr. E.M., who were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace following their prosecutor interrogations, were arrested on charges of 'membership in an armed terrorist organization'.
It was learned that judicial proceedings regarding the other suspects within the scope of the investigation are ongoing.
