New development in the atrocity: Sent to the courthouse

The chilling incident took place on March 8 in the Sancaktepe neighborhood of Bağcılar. According to allegations, Cengiz Bedir (54) shot and killed his wife Zeynep Bedir (45), whom he was in the process of divorcing and who had been reported missing, and their son Tarık Bedir (26), before burying them in a field in Kırklareli. Following the discovery of the murders, the lifeless bodies of the mother and son were found in the field based on the location provided by Bedir, who was taken into custody. Chilling details emerged during the investigation.

During the investigation into the incident, two of Bedir's friends, M.N.S. and M.S.M., who were determined to have helped transport the bodies, were also taken into custody.

Cengiz Bedir and his two friends were taken to the Istanbul Public Security Branch Directorate for questioning.

During the investigation, the brutality involved in the murder of the mother and son was revealed.

According to the details that emerged, retired police officer Cengiz Bedir (54) shot and killed his wife Zeynep Bedir, with whom he was in the process of divorcing and had been arguing, and their son Tarık Bedir. To dispose of the bodies of his wife and son, he first separated their heads from their bodies.

HE BURIED THE BODIES WHEN THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN

Cengiz Bedir placed the two dismembered bodies into sacks and then loaded them into the trunk of his car.

He set off toward his field in Çeşmeköy, Kırklareli. His vehicle broke down in an area near the field. Upon this, he buried the bodies in a field near where the vehicle had broken down.

SENT TO THE COURTHOUSE

The teams that conducted excavations at the location indicated by Cengiz Bedir found the bodies of Zeynep Bedir and her son Tarık Bedir.

The bodies, which had been decapitated after being shot, were sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for examination. The procedures for Cengiz Bedir and his two friends, who were taken into custody by the Istanbul Murder Bureau teams, were completed at the police station. Following the investigation, Bedir and his two friends were referred to the courthouse.
