New development in the Erzincan disaster: Ministry's decision regarding Anagold Mining!
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has revoked the environmental permit and license of the mine site in İliç, Erzincan, where a landslide occurred.
On February 13, 9 workers were left under the rubble as a result of a landslide that occurred at the mine site operated by Anagold Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in the İliç district of Erzincan.
While search and rescue efforts for the missing workers continue, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has revoked the mine's environmental permit and license.
The decision was justified by the finding that, following the landslide, the material located in the heap leach area flowed toward the Sabırlı stream and the mine site, which resulted in the elimination of the conditions required for the license, leading to the revocation of the mine's environmental permit and license.
