New development in the investigation into Ferdi Zeyrek's death! Expert report prepared...
In the investigation into the death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek due to electrocution, a new expert report prepared by Istanbul Technical University has identified 6 additional individuals as negligent in the construction and inspection process of the pool.
The investigation launched following the death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was electrocuted while checking a malfunction in the machine room of his home's pool, continues.
An additional expert report was prepared by experts from Istanbul Technical University to determine those responsible for the incident, citing reasons such as the pool's energy room not being built according to standards and the faulty installation of motor and electrical components.
In the report, N.B., who is currently in custody and alleged to have performed the installation in the pool's energy room in violation of standards, and H.İ., who repaired and installed the malfunctioning pool motor incorrectly, were deemed primarily at fault. On the other hand, it was ruled that Z.M., who had been arrested on the grounds of being responsible for the construction of the pool, was not at fault, and Z.M. was released.
However, the new report determined that 6 other individuals who failed to fulfill their duties during the construction process and subsequent inspections were also at fault. It was noted that these individuals failed to perform the necessary checks and were negligent. It has been learned that judicial proceedings have been initiated against the suspects and that a public lawsuit will be filed following the indictment.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On the evening of June 6, in the Yunusemre district of Manisa, Ferdi Zeyrek was electrocuted while attempting to examine a malfunction in the pool's machine room and passed away on June 9 at the Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, where he had been taken in critical condition.
Following the incident, Y.Ö., responsible for the maintenance of the pool, and A.S., responsible for the maintenance and security of the site, were detained and released under judicial control on June 11.
On June 14, Z.M., who was alleged to have built the pool's energy room in violation of standards; M.Y.P., who was alleged to have participated in the installation; N.B., who was alleged to have designed the motor and electrical components in a non-standard manner; and H.İ., who was stated to have performed faulty installation, were detained. Among the suspects, Z.M., N.B., and H.İ. were arrested on charges of "causing death by negligence," while M.Y.P. was released.
