New development in the Manifest group case: Signature requirement lifted

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed its investigation into the music group Manifest, which was launched over allegations that they engaged in "lewd acts" during their stage performances. As a result of the investigation, a lawsuit was filed against a total of 7 people, including the group members and artist Ayça Dalaklı, who uses the stage name "AYDEED".

In the indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office, it was requested that the defendants be sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 6 months to 1 year for the crime of "engaging in lewd acts through public exposure".

COURT DECISION TO LIFT SIGNATURE REQUIREMENT

The Istanbul 49th Criminal Court of First Instance reviewed the case file and announced its interim decision on October 24. The court lifted the signature requirement, which was one of the judicial control measures imposed on the defendants. However, it ruled that the travel ban would remain in effect.

The measure in question had been implemented on September 9 during the investigation process, at which time the suspects were released on the condition of a travel ban and a signature requirement.

DEFENDANTS TO BE TRIED WITHOUT COURT APPEARANCE

The court decided to proceed with the case based on the file. Thus, the defendants, including the members of the Manifest group and Ayça Dalaklı, will be tried without appearing before a judge.

At the conclusion of the proceedings conducted within the scope of the file, the court will deliver its verdict regarding the defendants.
