D.E. (46), who boarded the Marmaray in Maltepe with her two children, reacted to a woman waiting in front of the door. As other passengers joined in, the argument escalated into a fight, resulting in D.E.'s nose being broken; the incident was recorded by a passenger's mobile phone camera. Following the incident, the police took action and apprehended E.D. (50), who assaulted D.E., and I.A. (22), who joined the incident later. Suspect E.D. was arrested.

The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 16:45 at the Marmaray Süreyyapaşa Station. According to the information obtained, an argument broke out between D.E., who was traveling with her two children, and a female passenger over a seat-giving issue.

During the argument, E.D. (50), who was on the train, assaulted D.E. The scuffle grew as I.A., who joined the fight later, intervened. The parties, who got off when the train approached the station, continued the argument there. Other female passengers at the station tried to calm the children, who were frightened by the incident. Those moments were recorded by a passenger's mobile phone camera.

SUSPECTS WHO COMMITTED THE ASSAULT WERE CAUGHT

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. D.E., who was assaulted in the fight, was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that her nose was broken. Upon D.E.'s complaint, one of the suspects, I.A., was caught at the scene, and E.D. was caught later as a result of the work carried out. Of the two suspects taken into custody, I.A. was released by judicial authorities after processing. E.D. was referred to the courthouse on charges of 'intentional injury.' E.D. was arrested.
