New development in the murder of motorcycle courier Ata Emre Akman!

The investigation launched by the Balıkesir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the murder of motorcycle courier Ata Emre Akman, which has outraged Turkey, continues.

Following the arrest of the 17-year-old perpetrator E.Ö., who has 6 separate criminal records for 'intentional injury' and 'threat,' the statement of Orhan Ö., who is currently in prison for another crime and is alleged to have incited and instigated him, was taken.

An arrest warrant was also issued for Orhan Ö. in the investigation regarding the murder of Akman.

It was learned that the apartment below the one where Akman delivered the pizza belonged to Sultan D., with whom Orhan Ö. previously had a religious marriage, and that E.Ö., who saw Akman leaving the building, asked him where he had come from before stabbing him.

In a statement to reporters, Sultan D. claimed that Orhan Ö., from whom she separated 12 years ago, and his son E.Ö. had been constantly harassing her and demanding money.

Stating that Akman had brought pizza to her upstairs neighbor that evening, Sultan D. spoke as follows:

"I am a mother of 4 children. I have 2 daughters from my first husband and a son from Orhan. I married again 10 years later and now I have an 11-month-old son. I am indescribably sad for Ata. As a mother, I am truly devastated. It could have been me, it could have been my husband, or it could have been anyone. When we heard the incident, we went out of the house due to the noise. When we went out, Ata was on the ground; I went to his side. I checked his breathing. I was in shock myself. What can I say that a mother could do? If I need to apologize, I apologize to his mother, but I truly have no guilt or sin in this incident. People have written and drawn things, but truly, neither I nor my family have any guilt or sin."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Ata Emre Akman (20), a student at Balıkesir University Faculty of Tourism, Department of Tourism Guidance, had gone to Emir Street in the Karaoğlan neighborhood of Karesi district on the evening of May 10 to deliver a pizza ordered from the company where he had started working as a motorcycle courier 5 days prior.

After delivering the pizza, Akman was walking toward his motorcycle parked on the street when E.Ö. approached him and attacked him with a knife. Akman, who received 10 stab wounds to various parts of his body, lost his life at the scene, while E.Ö., who fled, was caught by police teams and arrested by the court.
