New development in the murder of teacher Mahir
Eight of the 11 suspects referred to the courthouse in connection with the armed attack that killed high school assistant principal Mahir Çoğaç in the Çayırova district of Kocaeli have been arrested.

The prosecution interrogations have been completed for D.G. (17), who carried out the attack, lookouts B.Y. (20), O.D. (18), H.Z. (22), E.K. (32), M.Ç. (27), L.A. (44), M.Ö. (24), A.H. (53), E.B (39), and T.Ö. (33), who were detained in operations conducted by the Kocaeli Police Department Public Security Branch Murder Bureau teams in Kocaeli, Istanbul, and Adana and referred to the Gebze Courthouse.
While D.G. and 7 other suspects were arrested by the duty magistrate, 3 suspects were released under judicial control conditions.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the Çayırova district of Kocaeli, Fevzi Çakmak Anatolian High School Assistant Principal Mahir Çoğaç (48) was subjected to an armed attack on June 26 while getting into his vehicle after leaving his home on Fatih Street in the Yeni neighborhood, and he lost his life at the Gebze Fatih State Hospital where he had been taken. Two suspects were initially caught regarding the attack, and as a result of comprehensive work by police teams, 9 more suspects were detained in operations held in Kocaeli, Istanbul, and Adana.
