New development in the operation targeting Seferihisar Municipality

While operations targeting CHP-run municipalities remain on the agenda, a new development has occurred in the bribery investigation into Seferihisar Municipality in İzmir. Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin and 19 others, who were detained, have been referred to the courthouse following their processing at the police station.

POLICE PROCESSING COMPLETED

The processing of the 20 individuals detained as part of the investigation conducted by the Financial Crimes Bureau of the İzmir Provincial Police Department has been completed.

Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin and 19 other suspects were taken from the Yeşilyurt Service Building of the İzmir Provincial Police Department and referred to the Seferihisar Courthouse.

DETENTION ORDERS HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR 26 PEOPLE

Within the scope of the bribery investigation into Seferihisar Municipality, detention orders had been issued for 26 people, including Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin, Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, Seferihisar Deputy Mayors N.H. and İ.K., and İzmir Metropolitan and Güzelbahçe Municipal Council Member D.B.

In simultaneous operations conducted on June 25 in İzmir, Istanbul, Adana, and Aydın, 25 suspects were taken into custody.

SOME INDIVIDUALS HAD BEEN RELEASED

Among those detained, Meryem Yiğit, the mother of Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, and Ö.F.S. were released following their statements at the police station.

While a judicial control measure in the form of house arrest was applied to Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit and İzmir Metropolitan and Güzelbahçe Municipal Council Member D.B., another suspect was released following their statement at the prosecutor's office.
