New development in the Sinan Ateş case: 'The shooters are known, those who ordered it are still free'
The judicial process following the murder of Sinan Ateş has entered a new phase. In her statement regarding the consolidation of the cases, Ayşe Ateş emphasized that those who orchestrated the murder have yet to face justice.
The 5th Criminal Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice has decided to consolidate the case concerning the murder of Sinan Ateş with the trial of former Ülkü Ocakları executives linked to the killing. This decision is considered a significant step toward uncovering all connections behind the murder of Sinan Ateş.
CASES CONSOLIDATED
The investigation following the murder of Hacettepe University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş in Istanbul has led to the merger of two separate case files. The trials being heard at the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court, which include MHP-affiliated lawyer Serdar Öktem and a former Homicide Bureau Chief, have now been combined under the same proceedings.
STRIKING STATEMENT FROM AYŞE ATEŞ
Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş, pointed out in her remarks on the consolidation that despite the identification of those who committed the murder, justice has not yet been served. Ayşe Ateş stated, "While it is crystal clear that they carried out a comprehensive operation over months to murder Sinan, it is unacceptable to the public conscience to claim there is 'no factual connection' by only focusing on the suspects at the moment of the assassination and swinging the sword of justice in only that direction."
"THE SHOOTERS ARE KNOWN, THOSE WHO ORDERED IT ARE STILL FREE"
In her statement, Ayşe Ateş expressed that they know not only the perpetrators who carried out the murder but also those who directed them, saying, "The shooters are known. Those who ordered it are walking free. The low-level thugs are also trying to get away with the lightest possible sentences."
THE WHEELS OF JUSTICE ARE TURNING SLOWLY
Stating that the murder has still not been fully clarified, Ateş continued her remarks as follows:
"Sinan's assassination in the heart of Ankara was a turning point. Unfortunately, this murder, committed through a cowardly method, has not yet been fully brought to light."
