New development in the Uğur Mumcu case
The Ankara 5th High Criminal Court has requested that letters be sent to the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice to determine whether a commission was established with Iran regarding the case.
The hearing for the case in which Oğuz Demir is being tried for the 1993 assassination of journalist Uğur Mumcu was held at the Ankara 5th High Criminal Court.
The court requested that letters be written to the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice to inquire whether a joint investigation commission was established with Iran at the time to shed light on the Uğur Mumcu murder.
WILL MEHMET AĞAR BE HEARD?
The court stated that a decision regarding the request to hear the testimony of the then-Minister of Interior, Mehmet Ağar, would be made after the documents to be added to the file are examined.
The hearing at the Ankara 5th High Criminal Court was attended by the Mumcu family's lawyers, Yalçın Akbal and İlhan Cihaner.
Furthermore, the court adjourned the next hearing to January 16.
