New development regarding AKP mayor arrested on 'prostitution' charges
A new development has emerged regarding Mollakendi Mayor Mehmet Enis Doğan, who was arrested as part of 'Operation Cemre' in Elazığ, launched over allegations that "prostitution was being conducted in certain beauty centers, hotels, and guesthouses."
Mollakendi Mayor Mehmet Enis Doğan has been arrested on charges of "encouraging, mediating, or providing premises for prostitution."
Following his arrest, it was learned that the AKP Elazığ Provincial Presidency has referred Doğan to the disciplinary board with a request for his "permanent expulsion."
In Elazığ, teams from the Morality Bureau of the Police Department's Public Security Branch carried out simultaneous raids 4 days ago under the name 'Operation Cemre,' following reports that "women were engaging in sexual intercourse with men for money in certain beauty centers, hotels, and guesthouses."
During the operation, 5 people were detained, including AKP's Mollakendi Mayor Mehmet Enis Doğan, who is alleged to be a "hotel owner who facilitated prostitution in his hotel." Following their detention, the 5 individuals were referred to the courthouse and subsequently arrested and sent to prison.
It was learned that after the decision to arrest the AKP mayor, Doğan, the AKP Elazığ provincial presidency referred him to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion, and that the decision has been sent to the party's Headquarters.
