Eight suspects, including Mayor Ahmet Sungur, who were detained as part of an "extortion" investigation conducted by the Provincial Security Directorate's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch under the coordination of the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Yahşihan Municipality, have been referred to the courthouse following their procedures at the police station.
Within the scope of the investigation, Mayor Sungur, Deputy Mayor C.Y., former Deputy Mayor O.U., Zoning Manager S.A., municipal personnel Y.N.Y. and M.S., as well as former zoning manager and businessman U.B. and S.G. had also been detained. It was announced that the AKP Central Executive Board had decided to refer Mayor Ahmet Sungur to the Central Disciplinary Board with a request for his expulsion from the party with precautionary measures.
Within the scope of the investigation, 13 suspects, including former Yahşihan Mayor Osman Türkyılmaz, were detained on May 27 and August 19, and 5 people, including Türkyılmaz, were arrested.
