New development regarding Zeydan Karalar, whose release decision was appealed: Decision upheld
The objection filed by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the release of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and 5 others has been rejected.
In the case publicly known as the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş Criminal Organization Case," the release of 9 individuals, including Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, had been ordered on February 5, the seventh day of the trial.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OBJECTION TO RELEASES REJECTED
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had appealed the release of 6 people, including Zeydan Karalar. The prosecutor's office's objection was rejected.
According to the report by Batuhan Serim from Cumhuriyet, the prosecutor's office's objection was reviewed by the higher court, the Istanbul 2nd High Criminal Court.
HIGHER COURT FOUND THE DECISION "APPROPRIATE"
The higher court found the reasoning of the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court's decision to be "appropriate" and ruled to reject the objection.
OTHER NAMES WHOSE RELEASE OBJECTIONS WERE REJECTED
The other 5 individuals whose releases were appealed by the prosecutor's office but were finalized by the higher court's decision are as follows:
Mehmet Ataş, Ali Fırat Baycan, Cem Alper Akyüz, Mert Çelik, and Müzeyyen Karakaş.
