New Diyanet President makes decisions on official vehicles and security detail
Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, who was appointed as the President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), has decided to use TOGG vehicles instead of Mercedes brand official cars and to reduce the number of his security detail from six to two.
Istanbul Provincial Mufti Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş has been appointed as the President of Religious Affairs, replacing Ali Erbaş, whose term has ended.
According to a report in Sözcü, Arpaguş made his first adjustments to official vehicles immediately after taking office. Instead of the 3 Mercedes passenger cars and 1 VIP Mercedes used in the previous term, the TOGG and Passat, which had been kept in the garage during the Ali Erbaş era, will be used.
The new president also reduced the number of his security detail from six to two. Arpaguş's decisions were met with a positive response within the institution. Presidency staff commented, “The new president will create an environment of trust. There is also a positive atmosphere in the public eye. The institution has been worn down significantly in recent years; we expect a team that is sensitive to public opinion to be established.”
