On July 24, at the Necattin Mosque in Bağcılar, an individual identified as Muhammet F.G. allegedly argued with Imam Dursun Kuru, claiming the imam failed to intervene with a person praying in the mosque while wearing shorts. The suspect later returned and shot Kuru in the shoulder with an arrow as he was leaving the mosque.
Following the incident, Imam Kuru was taken to the nearby Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital and immediately underwent surgery. While the attacker was arrested and sent to prison, Kuru was discharged this morning following final check-ups.
